The (Hospitality) Robots Are Coming: 5 Bay Area Hotels in Their 'Jetsons'-Maxxing Era
Five Bay Area hotels use robots as more than novelty, turning them into an everyday guest experience. Luma Hotel in San Francisco’s Mission Bay features four robot butlers—Henry, Lumie, Lucy, and Lola—assisting the front desk and food and beverage teams at Twyne Coffee Bar and the rooftop restaurant Cavana. The robots handle deliveries such as lotion and lattes, with up to about 40 room service calls on busy weekends, especially between 7am and 9am. Luma also created baseball cards for the robots, using last year’s delivery stats and guest compliments. Other hotels highlight robot servers with themed appearances and interactive features, including video screens and a tuxedo look.

Most of the calls come between 7am and 9am, when we're constantly having the robots going up onto the floors and interacting with guests, says Severino."
