"Alrighty everybody, we hate to say it, but it needs to be said - we're going to be closing the brewery on April 30, 2026. Now that we've got that covered, we've still got a few more months left to hang and celebrate with y'all. A few months to raise a glass to all the beer, art, and memories we've created together in this space over the past 15 years,"
"It's official, just posted on their socials. Damn, what a loss for the Arts District, Little Tokyo, and DTLA as a whole,"
"I'm sad the brewery is shutting down 🙁 I have a lot of memories there. Here's hoping the building isn't bought out and replaced with a soulless shopping mall or food hall,"
Angel City Brewery will close its Arts District brewery on April 30, 2026. The closure was announced on Angel City's Facebook page on Feb. 4. The brewery opened in the Arts District at 216 S. Alameda St. in 2011 in a 100-year-old building with capacity for more than 1,000 barrels a year. Angel City launched in Culver City in 1997 by Michael Bowe, who began homebrewing in the late 1980s and won California Home Brewer of the Year in 1995 and 1996. The operation was later bought by the Boston Beer Company. The location served as a community hangout with live music, food trucks, and a gathering spot for Los Angeles Dodgers fans. Social media reactions expressed sadness and concern for the neighborhood.
