João Palhinha, a key player for Portugal, has had limited playing time at Bayern Munich and was surprisingly left out of the recent squad against Poland.
Head coach Roberto Martinez explained that Palhinha's omission was due to managing player fitness over two demanding matches and that he had personal reasons for missing training.
