Bayern Munich's Leroy Sane scored two goals to help secure a 3-2 victory over St. Pauli, allowing Bayern to extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga. Despite a dominant performance that included an expected goals total of 3.53, the match was tense at the end due to an injury to St. Pauli's Hiroki Ito, who left his team with 10 players. Sane urged his teammates to maintain focus and give full effort in upcoming matches, especially with critical games approaching against Augsburg and Inter in the Champions League.
"It was a bit tight towards the end because we were reduced to ten men. Taken altogether, it was a very good display after an international break," Sane said.
"We're all glad we took the three points at home. We must give it 100 percent in every match and win our games," Sane emphasized.
"St. Pauli have been well-organised throughout the entire season. They concede few goals and allow few chances," Kompany observed.
"In the first half, we allowed them a lot, but in the second half in particular we created good chances," Kompany reflected after the match.
