Report: Eintracht Frankfurt scared away by salary of Bayern Munich's Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Briefly

Eintracht Frankfurt are looking for a new striker for January and have enquired about Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. However after initial inquiry, it quickly became clear that a move was not financially feasible for Eintracht. Choupo earns over €10m/year at Bayern, which would break Frankfurt's wage structure.
Bayern are open to selling Choupo-Moting in January should they receive a suitable offer, as it would be the last chance to get a fee for him. A contract extension beyond next summer is unlikely.
The salary will surely be an issue for most teams. Frankly, paying Choupo-Moting that much was probably a misstep by Bayern Munich, though one that might have been necessary given the uncertainty surrounding the striker position before the Bavarians acquired Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur. Now, though, Die Rekordmeister will almost certainly have to eat some of Choupo-Moting's salary if he is to be sold in January. Mathys Tel would like assume the formal role as Kane's back-up should Choupo-Moting leave the club.
