RB Leipzig has officially sacked head coach Marco Rose due to a disappointing season in both the Bundesliga and European competitions. Currently sitting sixth in the Bundesliga after a recent loss to Borussia Monchengladbach, the club seeks to revitalize its performance to secure a Champions League spot for next season. The managing director, Marcel Schafer, indicated a need for a change amid ongoing poor results. Assistant coaches and the head of first-team football have also departed. The club may consider Oliver Glasner as a potential interim replacement.
We have believed in our co-operation with Marco and his team for a very long time and, up to now, tried everything to turn things around together.
Given the development and the continued lack of results, we're all firmly convinced that we need new impetus for the remainder of the campaign.
Leipzig had been expected to part ways with Rose at the end of the season, but appear to have acted in an effort to rescue a top-four finish.
Oliver Glasner is thought to be on RB Leipzig's radar after leading Crystal Palace to the FA Cup semi-finals.
