European football: Muller to leave Bayern after 25 trophy-laden years
Briefly

Thomas Muller, the celebrated Bayern Munich player, announced his departure from the club after 25 years, during which he accumulated 33 titles, including a record 12 Bundesliga championships. Although he hoped to remain part of the team, the club chose not to renew his contract for next season. Muller expressed his enjoyment of playing alongside his teammates and respected the club's decision. While he has seen reduced playing time recently and has not disclosed his future plans, Bayern wishes to involve him in club activities post-retirement. He will make his final appearances at the Club World Cup.
Even after all these years, regardless of the minutes I play, I still really enjoy being on the pitch with the lads and fighting for titles together for our team.
While there is no indication Muller will retire from football any time soon, Bayern have hinted they would like him to get involved with the club at the end of his playing days.
