Sometimes the better team just gains the momentum in a match and uses it to steamroll the opposition. Bayern Munich's incredible 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb certainly demonstrated the fickle nature of momentum and its' helpful nature.
Bayern's official website captured Zagreb's coach Sergej Jakirović detailing how it all went down: "It was a difficult evening for us. Bayern are in a different league. We didn't play well in the first half and Bayern didn't give much away. After half-time, we got it back to 3-2 and had the chance to equalise. However, we were inferior physically and Bayern recognised the spaces. We were punished for every mistake we made. It's a lesson for us. Bayern were on a top level. Congratulations on the win."
Bayern's dominance was evident as they handled any opportunity Zagreb had to capitalize, showcasing not just skill but a relentless pursuit of victory which ultimately led to their impressive 9-2 final scoreline.
