Despite making a last-minute bid yesterday which matched the Londoner's offer, it looks like Christoph Freund has experienced his first failure as sporting director of Bayern Munich.
This move probably means that the club will pivot to Plan B, which is probably going to be Eric Dier. The Englishman is a friend of Harry Kane and reportedly already has a deal agreed with the Bavarians, though he clearly wasn't the first choice. Dier can be a backup candidate at both defensive midfield and center-back, which will hopefully be enough to last the club until summer.
