Alphonso Davies, a Bayern Munich player, was included in Canada’s 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup despite a hamstring injury. Davies has not played since injuring his hamstring in Bayern’s Champions League semi-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the month. Canada will make a second consecutive World Cup appearance after being eliminated in the 2022 group stage by losing all three matches. Jesse Marsch selected a squad he described as Canada’s best group of 26 players, with most players projected to be near full fitness. Canada will play all three Group B matches on home soil, starting June 12 against Bosnia-Herzegovina, then facing Qatar and Switzerland in Vancouver. The squad includes goalkeepers Dayne St Clair, Maxime Crepeau, and Owen Goodman; defenders Alistair Johnston, Derek Cornelius, Richie Laryea, Niko Sigur, Joel Waterman, Luc de Fougerolles, Moise Bombito, Alphonso Davies, and Alfie Jones.
