According to French sports journalist Saber Desfarges, Bayern is monitoring the situation of Clauss who has only one year left on his contract with Marseille (via @iMiaSanMia). Bayern are reportedly keen on benefitting from Clauss' relationship with Kingsley Coman on the right side of the pitch for the French national team.
The 31-year-old wing-back excels in his role for Marseille, putting up impressive attacking numbers from goals and chance creation to successful dribbles and progressive play (FBREF). Despite being underwhelming defensively when compared to other fullbacks in Europe's top five leagues, Clauss manages to find himself in the eightieth percentile for interceptions.
