Bayern Munich Alumni: Hansi Flick praised for integrating youngsters at FC Barcelona
Briefly

In an insightful conversation, journalist Alex Truica discusses Hansi Flick's tenure at FC Barcelona with Abendzeitung reporter Maximilian Koch. Truica emphasizes Flick’s proactive approach to utilizing young players, recognizing the groundwork laid by his predecessor Xavi. He highlights players like Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubasi, and Marc Casado as pivotal figures under Flick. Truica mentions Marc Bernal, who despite injury, quickly established himself as a regular, showcasing Flick's knack for leveraging available talent. This strategy aligns well with FC Barcelona's rich youth pipeline, indicating a positive direction for the club.
It has to be said that Flick's predecessor Xavi did the groundwork. He gave many young players a chance. Lamine Yamal was Xavi's discovery. He is now blossoming all the more under Flick, but it is also logical that he is developing. The same goes for Pau Cubasi and Alejandro Baldé.
The second player to mention is Marc Bernal, who unfortunately suffered a serious injury. Flick gave him a chance out of necessity because there was a lack of options in defensive midfield. Bernal very quickly became a regular until he tore his cruciate ligament. But he and Casado are definitely Flick's discoveries.
Flick's impact has been undeniable and his ability to integrate young players is certainly a positive given FC Barcelona's incredible pipeline of young talent.
