Daily Schmankerl: Bayern Munich leading Real Madrid on Manchester United's Raphael Varane; FC Barcelona weighing futures of Joao Cancelo & Joao Felix; Dortmund eyeing Serhou Guirassy; Juventus, Newcastle compete for Man City's Kalvin Phillips; and MORE!
Briefly

Bayern Munich are reportedly leading the race for Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane. According to Football Insider, Bayern are currently in pole position to secure his signature, with the Bundesliga giants expected to make an offer during the January transfer window. The report claims that the German side are determined to sign a new centre-back in January, as Kim Min-jae is heading to the Asian Cup to represent South Korea. Man United have the option to activate an additional 12 months in Varane's deal and that could occur if they are planning to sell him during next summer's transfer window. As it stands, Varane, who is set to retain his spot in the Red Devils side for Saturday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest, would be free to speak to foreign clubs in January over a possible pre-contract.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the club have been made aware of the conditions to sign loanees João Cancelo and João Felix on permanent deals. However, at least one report states that Barca coach Xavi is not "convinced" on what he has seen from Felix: Barcelona head coach Xavi has not been convinced by the performances of loanee Joao Felix and he could return to Atletico Madrid at the end of his loan spell.
