He has won the French Open for the past two years and was favored to win again. After losing in the Monte Carlo Masters final, he attempted to compete in Barcelona but injured his wrist. Alcaraz stated that it is prudent to be cautious and not participate in upcoming tournaments while evaluating his recovery.
