The proposal to amend the Save Our Springs Ordinance to increase impervious cover limits over the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone failed to receive support from the Environmental Commission.

Leslie Lilly highlighted that as of now, 16 percent of property owners in the aquifer zone have petitioned to be let out of the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction.
Milestone Community Builders plans to increase the allowable impervious cover from 15 percent to 25 percent, arguing for higher environmental standards under city oversight.
