"I thoroughly enjoy the process of getting to know a client's daily life, their routines and rituals. That understanding is everything, because it's what allows me to design spaces that don't just look beautiful, but genuinely function for the people within them."
"There's something really appealing to me about creating a piece you can actually use, that will sit in someone's home and last. And honestly, the technicalities of it suit my type-A mind."
Paige Lawrence earned her bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and later received a graduate degree to become a licensed architect. After working at a residential firm in Los Angeles, where she developed her interest in the built environment through kitchen design, she returned to Texas and joined 787 Design Studio with founder Patrick Mackie. The practice is recognized for designing homes across Austin that respond to natural landscapes. Lawrence's design process begins with understanding clients' daily lives, routines, and rituals to create spaces that function genuinely for inhabitants. She combines analog sketching with digital tools like iPads for design iterations, preferring the tactile experience of pen on paper. Beyond architecture, Lawrence aspires to pursue woodworking and furniture making.
