The city has a long and proud history of bicycle culture dating back to the 1800s. In fact, the first documented bicycle ride in Texas was in Austin in 1885.
These events bring thousands of cyclists to Austin every year, making it a true destination for cycling enthusiasts. I rode in the Ride for the Roses in Austin many years ago and actually rode next to Robin Williams for a short time. He was a good cyclist.
