This Day in Braves History: Commissioner voids contract between Atlanta and Tom Seaver

The Braves sign Tom Seaver out of USC, but the deal will later be voided and Seaver will be selected by the Mets in a special draft. The Braves also announce the induction of Schuerholz and Jones into the team's Hall of Fame.
The National League adopts rule changes in 1896 dividing minor leagues into classifications. In 1977, the Oakland A's trade Ron Fairly, who later plays with both Canadian teams.
