Boston Braves owner James Gaffney purchases the Allston Golf Club on Commonwealth Avenue with a plan to construct a ballpark there. Groundbreaking will take place on March 20, 1915.
The Braves sign reliever Billy Wagner to a one-year, $7 million contract. Wagner saved 37 games for Atlanta while posting a 1.43 ERA to go along with 104 strikeouts in 69 1⁄3 innings. Wagner retired at the end of the season with 422 career saves.
