Jake Irvin shuts down the Braves but gets no help in the Nats' 2-0 loss
Briefly

Jake Irvin struck out Jarred Kelenic to end the fifth inning of a nearly flawless outing Tuesday night. It was the eighth of the Washington Nationals right-hander's career-high 10 punchouts, and as he came off the mound, he put his face in his glove, yelled, and stomped toward the dugout.
At that point, the game was still scoreless, with Irvin matching Atlanta ace Max Fried. Despite his exceptional performance, Jake Irvin was visibly frustrated as he felt let down by the lack of offensive support from his team.
