The Braves have agreed to a minor-league deal with veteran first baseman Garrett Cooper. The agreement comes with an invite to Spring Training, as reported by Robert Murray.
Garrett Cooper has been a familiar name to Braves fans, notably for his notable years with the Marlins, achieving an OPS of .794 from 2019-2022.
Despite recent struggles reflected in a 58 wRC+ last season, Cooper possesses an .801 OPS vs LHP and has historically performed well against NL East pitching.
While Cooper is primarily seen as organizational depth for the Braves, a resurgence in his performance could offer them a valuable bench option.
