Did Kevin Seitzer get the last laugh?
"In case you missed it, the Atlanta Braves replaced their pitching coach, bullpen coach, first base coach and third base coach this week. They moved Brian Snitker to an off-field role and installed Walt Weiss as manager. We're not sure who's going to be the bench coach but the hitting coach looks to still have his role. But then again, Mark Bowman has said a lot of things this offseason about the coaching staff and manager role."
"Yeah, I don't know. The pitching results were decent despite the slew of injuries. They ran the bases pretty well so long as they remembered which direction to go. Maybe not everyone was on board last season, and "on board" meant blindly implementing whatever approach the front office wanted. The Braves offense took a big step back after Seitzer was removed, and now the Braves are rearranging the staff chairs more. I wonder if Kevin is sporting a grin this week."
Multiple coaching positions changed: the pitching coach, bullpen coach, first-base coach and third-base coach were replaced, Brian Snitker was moved to an off-field role, and Walt Weiss was installed as manager. The bench-coach situation remains unclear while the hitting coach appears to retain his position. Questions arise about replacing several coaches but not the hitting coach or manager, given perceived underperformance. Pitching results were decent despite injuries, and base running generally functioned. The offense regressed after Seitzer's removal, and staff restructuring continues amid speculation about alignment with front office approaches.
