The Atlanta Braves announced Friday that they have selected the contract of Luke Williams and optioned outfielder Forrest Wall to Triple A Gwinnett. Williams will join the club in time for Friday's series opener against the Texas Rangers.
Williams is listed as an infielder, but also has experience in the corner outfield spots. He will move into the 26th spot on the roster that receives very little playing time.
Forrest Wall was a great story coming out of the spring... he has appeared in just two games and has one plate appearance over the first 17 games of the season.
Wall will also be an ideal candidate as a pinch-runner for a potential playoff roster. The Braves added David Fletcher to the roster earlier this week when Ozzie Albies went on the injured list.
