Briefly

Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker confirmed that starting pitcher Reynaldo López will have arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder next week to assess damage and inflammation. Following just one appearance, López has been placed on the injured list, adding to the Braves’ struggles as they remain winless after their sixth game with a recent loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team also made recent roster changes, including the acquisition of Michael Petersen and recalling Zach Thompson.

After just one appearance, López has landed on the injured list to add to an already terrible start for the Braves. Though he may be on the IL for longer than anticipated, he is expected to pitch again this season, assuming all goes well.
