It isn't clear whether it is the holidays or just a slow market that is causing such a trickle of transactions. It had been widely speculated that the chase for Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto were holding both the batting and pitching markets, respectively, up. Both have agreed to sign with a team (the Dodgers) for days or weeks now, however, so the market should start really moving anytime now if that theory is to hold.
The Blue Jays are reportedly signing Isiah Kiner-Falefa to a 2 year $15 million deal. Wander Franco was officially summoned by Dominican prosecutors for questioning about his alleged relations with underaged girls. The Twins signed Josh Staumont to a 1 year deal.
