As if the extended woes of the starting lineup weren't enough, the Atlanta Braves once again find themselves without the services of Ronald Acuña Jr. for the remainder of a season. Acuña's second torn ACL ended his season on Sunday and only increases the difficulty for an offense searching for answers.
The Braves will be more than happy to say farewell to a month of May that has been one of their worst offensive months in recent memory.
On the flip side, the pitching staff continues to carry the ball for the Braves. Chris Sale has turned back the clock and is currently one of the best pitchers in baseball, while Max Fried is also back on track.
Will rookie Spencer Schwellenbach help those efforts? All of that and a preview of the weekend series against the Oakland Athletics.
