2026 Battery Power Braves Preseason Top 30 Prospects: 19-24
"With a couple of the safer picks rounding out the top 30, we have begun to enter the part of the list that caters to some high upside prospects. Compared to recent years there is a lot more upside, and a lot more tools that are definitely louder than years prior. There is also considerable capital associated with this particular section of the system with high international signing bonuses, as well as a pair of players drafted within the first six rounds."
"While he still has a ways to go, it appears as though the Braves may have gotten a steal when they selected Hartman out of Holy Trinity Academy out of Alberta, Canada in the 20th round of the 2024 draft.A toolsy but very raw outfielder, the Braves sent Hartman to the FCL to begin his professional career, where he struggled to an OPS of .396 in a very limited sample size of six games."
The prospect pool entering the top 20 shows more high-upside position players and louder tools than in recent years, supported by significant international signing bonuses and multiple early-round draftees. The system has historically lacked depth, but progression from this group could strengthen the back end and produce a pair of potential top-100 talents. Alec Hartman, a 2024 20th-round pick from Holy Trinity Academy in Alberta, began in the FCL and struggled in a tiny sample before earning a Low-A promotion. Across 83 games in Augusta he posted a .718 OPS, five homers, 41 RBI, a 109 wRC+, a 23.2% strikeout rate and a 10.6% walk rate. The biggest issue for Hartman is his ability to handle breaking pitches.
