2025 Bluebird Banter Top 40 Blue Jays Prospects: 25-28
Briefly

Eric Pardinho, a 24-year-old RHP in the Blue Jays farm system, was once a highly touted prospect. After a promising start, he suffered setbacks, including Tommy John surgery, impacting his trajectory. Although he struggled initially upon returning, his performance improved in 2023, showcasing a strong fastball and better offspeed pitches. As he approaches the majors, his potential as a relief pitcher is evident, but he must work on his pitch command and consistency to succeed at the big league level.
In many ways it's hard to believe that Pardinho is only 24 years old for as long and winding journey he's had in the Blue Jays farm system since signing as a 16-year old IFA in 2017.
Healthy, Pardinho found his way to Vancouver. While the results weren't there, the stuff was noticeably better in 2023. He has a good hard fastball that was touching 95.
Now on the cusp of the majors, Pardinho's raw stuff profiles for a big league relief role. Both the slider and splitter can get swings-and-misses.
At this point the question is whether he can sharpen up the command and consistency, as sometimes his offspeed pitches also seem to bleed into each other visually.
