For the 321st anniversary of Chiayi City, MVRDV completed a temporary timber pavilion housing an exhibition on manufacture, craft, and construction with wood. The pavilion sits across from Chiayi's city hall and encloses a square courtyard. The perimeter shape was informed by deep research into the city's timber construction heritage. The project provides a public space for residents to gather, learn about local timber traditions, and discuss the city's timber future. The pavilion is on display during the anniversary celebrations from December 12 to 28. Project collaborators include Chiayi City Government, Guanglai Construction, and projection team IF Plus More.
