"“The theme of it is Drift: A Journey Across Water and Time,” said Aislinn, who has been inspired by the Wexford artist Ciara Roche. “We were given this theme and brief about two or three months ago, but we've been working towards the exhibition the whole time we've been in second year because we knew we were having an exhibition at the end of the year.”"
"“I like the fact that it's a smaller campus, smaller university, and you can get a lot of one-to-one sessions with the lecturers if you have questions or any concerns or just where you want to move forward in your art practice. The community itself in Wexford town is so nice and I just preferred it a lot there.”"
"“We have our studio time where you're mainly doing painting or sculpture as your two different ways to go for your elective, but you also delve into art history and the history behind it all. You're learning about all the different movements in art from all over the world and all the different years.”"
Second-year undergraduate arts students at South East Technological University’s Wexford campus presented an exhibition called “Drift.” The show featured carefully curated paintings and sculptures created over an extended period. Students received the theme “Drift: A Journey Across Water and Time” a few months before the exhibition, while continuing to develop their work throughout their second year. The exhibition process included studio time focused on painting or sculpture electives, along with study of art history and the history behind different movements from around the world. The Wexford campus environment offered a smaller university setting with frequent one-to-one sessions with lecturers, supporting students’ questions and progress in their art practice.
