Watch Pablo Picasso's Creative Process Unfold in Real-Time: Rare Footage Shows Him Creating Drawings of Faces, Bulls & Chickens
Briefly

Pablo Picasso, born just before the advent of film, could have been a pioneering filmmaker. However, he became a revolutionary figure in painting. His work attracted the fascination of cinema; he even appeared in films by Jean Cocteau and Henri-Georges Clouzot. Clouzot's documentary, Le Mystère Picasso, aimed to showcase Picasso in the act of creating art, rather than recounting his famous works. Although many of the works created for the film were destroyed, some still exist, reflecting Picasso's creative process.
"Clouzot took as his task not telling the story of Les Demoiselles d'Avignon or Three Musicians but capturing Picasso in the act of creating new works of art."
"Cinema was fascinated by Picasso's work and him as a person, evident in his role in Cocteau's Testament of Orpheus and Clouzot's documentary."
