The film has a terrific premise: Justin gets called for jury duty, facing a moral dilemma when he suspects he may have hit a woman on the road.
The maneuvering that has to happen to make this even mildly plausible is impressive in its precision, showcasing Justin's struggle with his past as a recovering alcoholic.
There are both a giant deer-crossing sign and a bridge at the exact point where the incident happened, illustrating the tension of his situation and memory.
The legal plot, too, has so many holes in it that it's more holes than plot itself, raising questions about justice and truth in the judicial system.
