Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Foundation is hosting its 19th annual Children's Summer Art Camp from July 1 to August 8. Aimed at youth aged 4 to 13, the camp focuses on African diasporic traditions and creativity. Participants will immerse in live theatrical production, producing 'Ananse the Medicine Man,' a reimagined Ghanaian folktale. The program also introduces 'Legends of Ashanti,' an interactive experience combining folklore with art projects. Activities include group games, field trips, and themed celebrations to cultivate curiosity and cultural pride among campers.
Our mission at Asase Yaa Children's Summer Art Camp has always been to ignite curiosity, creativity and cultural pride in our youth, said Rubie inez Williams, the camp director.
This will be our boldest program yet, fusing vibrant African traditions with cutting-edge Afrofuturistic themes, Williams said. We can't wait to inspire our campers to dream big, explore boldly and imagine the limitless possibilities of their futures.
