Rendez-vous a Tanger! A Solo Exhibition by Photographer Davide Edoardo - KALTBLUT Magazine
"The photographer's minimal and elegant visual style, informed by his background in fashion photography, gives the series a quiet sophistication. At the heart of the work lies a story: a sailor arrives in Tangier and, over the course of 24 hours, surrenders to the city's rhythm, scents, and disarming energy. As he moves through its streets, drawn in by its scents and energy, he begins to let go of his inner constraints and embraces the freedom the city evokes."
"Tangier, positioned between Europe and Africa and at the meeting point of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, has long been a crossroads of cultures and myths. "It was in Tangier, in 2022, that I decided to devote myself entirely to photography, my lifelong passion, leaving behind my previous career in fashion," Davide Edoardo recalls. "Tangier, a city I have been visiting since 2019 and which had always fascinated me even from afar, sparked in me the courage and inspiration for this new beginning.""
Les Insolites Art Gallery presents Rendez-vous à Tanger, a solo exhibition on view in Tangier, Morocco through 14 October 2025. The show comprises 18 black-and-white photographs shot in cinematic 16:9 format, marked by a minimal, elegant visual style informed by a background in fashion photography. The series follows a sailor over 24 hours as he surrenders to Tangier's rhythms, scents, and disarming energy, relinquishing inner constraints and embracing freedom. The work captures both well-known and lesser-known corners of the city, treating Tangier as a liminal, transformative space and drawing on cinematic references that evoke a suspension in time.
