Spanish actress Karla Sofia Gascon is receiving significant backlash due to resurfaced derogatory posts on social media that were directed at Muslims and other communities. The tweets, which date back to between 2016 and the early 2020s, contain deeply offensive comments about Islam, as well as derogatory remarks about COVID vaccines and George Floyd. Following the emergence of these posts, Gascon deactivated her account. Sue Obeidi of the Muslim Public Affairs Council expressed her dismay at the tweets, underlining their harmful impact, especially fueled by Gascon's status in the entertainment industry and her identity within a marginalized community.
