A new Banksy image appeared on the back wall of the Grade I listed Royal Courts of Justice but was scrubbed and covered with a large sheet of black plastic and a corrugated metal barrier. Two security guards monitored the site while a worker in a high-vis jacket painted over the silhouette. Several members of the public tried to view the piece but found it already removed or blocked. Local witnesses described the artwork as strong and thought-provoking. Public figures and passersby criticised the removal, with comments suggesting censorship and encouraging further attention to the image.
