Les Wexner Claims Naivety in Epstein Deposition
"We should be very clear that there would be no Epstein Island, there'd be no Epstein plane, there'd be no money to traffic women and girls ... Mr. Epstein would not be the wealthy man he was without the support of Les Wexner,"
"I was never a participant nor co-conspirator in any of Epstein's illegal activities,"
"never witnessed nor had any knowledge of Epstein's criminal activity"
Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee expressed skepticism about Les Wexner's testimony after his closed-door deposition on February 18. Wexner stated in a three-page statement that he never witnessed nor had any knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activity and reiterated that he was never a participant or co-conspirator. The FBI named Wexner as a co-conspirator in a 2019 unredacted document, and Wexner was subpoenaed in January. Epstein once held power of attorney over Wexner's fortune. Wexner has not been charged, though alleged victims have accused him of direct and peripheral involvement, and committee members argued he financially enabled Epstein.
