Doors open at 5 PM. Refreshments are available for donation, and KALW members receive their first drink free at all 220 Montgomery events. Singers pick a song and choose Easy, Hard, or Extreme challenge levels; no singing skill required. Performers face tasks such as dancing, serenading, or surprise stage challenges, and random CarolBombs force fast-paced Xmas carols at 1.5x–2x speed that can interrupt performances. Fever Mode unlocks with continuous songs, featuring remixes, medleys, and audience participation. The Fists of Improv is a BIPOC-forward, LGBTQ+ Bay Area improv troupe.
