"Reflecting on life experience, sexual fantasy, and breaking heteronormative ideologies. These paintings become vignettes of surrealist spaces. This comes from Hoseley upbringing in Meridian, Idaho with very limited connection to any form of queer history. With the use of playful colors, abstracted figures, and icons the scenes are created. These scenes depict ideas of love, freedom, anger, vulnerability, submission and dominance. Iconography used in the work becomes the connecting dots of Hoseley's practice, expanding the universe he has created."
