Palm Beach Dramaworks presents Katori Hall's The Mountaintop Oct. 24-Nov. 9 in West Palm Beach, centering on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Room 306 of the Lorraine Motel on April 3, 1968. The play follows King after his final speech and features an encounter with a maid that prompts an examination of his life, mission and legacy. The Mountaintop won Britain's 2010 Olivier Award for Best New Play and stars Rita Cole and Christopher M. Lindsay. Florida Atlantic University's Theatre Lab stages the world premiere of Matthew Capodicasa's The City in the City in the City Nov. 8-23, exploring grief, relationship complications and an odyssey to an ancient city. Theatre Lab, founded in 2015, produces new work, provides student learning in stagecraft and performance, and hosts the annual Owl New Play Festival in April 2026.
