Foundwork has opened the 2025 Artist Prize open call, an annual juried award for emerging and mid-career artists working in any media. Foundwork's seventh annual selection aims to provide a platform for contemporary artists to share their work with the global art community.
Each year, the jury honors at least one artist, and shortlists a further three standout applicants. Judges will be on the lookout for artists who demonstrate a critical engagement with, and make a distinctive contribution to, their chosen media. Honouree and shortlisted artists will also be invited for in-depth interviews as part of Foundwork's 'Dialogues' program, increasing public engagement with their practice. Last year's honoree was Satpreet Kahlon and shortlisted artists were Adam Farah-Saad, Minne Kersten and Joyce Joumaa.
This year's jury, which has just been announced, includes highly acclaimed and visionary voices hailing from New York, Los Angeles, Boston, London and Paris. Bringing a range of perspectives and experience to the 2025 jury are: curator of Contemporary Art at MFA Boston, Carmen Hermo; Senior Director at David Zwirner and 52 Walker, Ebony Haynes; Los Angeles-based curator, writer and designer, Lauren Mackler; curator and founder of Soft Opening, Antonia Marsh; and curator at Palais de Tokyo, Hugo Vitrani.
