The Las Vegas Museum of Art will be a 60,000-square-foot, four-storey building at Symphony Park slated to open in 2029. The design features a mosaic façade using stone from the nearby Red Rock Mountains, a shaded front porch, a light-filled atrium, and a canyon-like grand staircase. Second-floor galleries will visually evoke Modernist architect Paul R. Williams. Baobab trees will inform the design as a metaphor for gathering and community. Francis Kéré, the 2022 Pritzker Prize winner, is known for environmentally centered, socially engaged architecture and has produced notable pavilions and biennale contributions.
