The Albuquerque Foundation is set to open a museum in Sintra on 22 February, showcasing a renowned collection of Chinese export porcelain collected by Renato de Albuquerque. The museum features a redesigned historic estate and will include exhibition spaces, a restaurant, and a garden. The inaugural exhibition will feature artist Theaster Gates. Albuquerque, who turned 97 recently, has dedicated decades to assembling this significant collection, which focuses heavily on Ming and Qing porcelain, highlighting cultural exchanges between East and West during the 15th to 18th centuries.
