Announcing the 2025 NPR College Podcast Challenge Honorable Mentions
"The fifth annual NPR College Podcast Challenge received roughly 200 entries from students in 31 states and the District of Columbia. Today, we are announcing our 10 finalist entries, and with them, an additional 35 podcasts that caught our ears, and that our team thought had a strong story to tell."
The NPR College Podcast Challenge completed its fifth year, attracting roughly 200 student submissions from 31 states and the District of Columbia. The competition recognized outstanding podcast entries through a tiered selection process, identifying 10 finalist podcasts and an additional 35 honorable mentions that demonstrated compelling storytelling. The honorable mention podcasts span diverse topics including community safety, personal hobbies, criminal justice, sports, agriculture, education, and social issues. Participating students represented institutions across the country, including Stanford University, Duke University, University of Vermont, and many others. The selection highlights the breadth of creative audio journalism and storytelling emerging from college campuses nationwide.
