"More than 1,000 artifacts - including Native American baskets, jewelry and historic objects - were stolen from the Oakland Museum of California's off-site storage facility this month. The burglary occurred just before 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 15, when individuals broke into the facility and took items from the museum's collection, Oakland police said in a news release on Wednesday. The police and FBI are jointly investigating the case."
""The theft that occurred represents a brazen act that robs the public of our state's cultural heritage," executive director and Oakland Museum CEO Lori Fogarty said in the release.
