OpenAI, in collaboration with SoftBank and Oracle, has announced a commitment to invest up to $500 billion over the next four years to develop AI infrastructure, with a substantial $100 billion designated for immediate projects. This move, celebrated by US President Donald Trump, follows the revocation of regulations set by former President Biden. Experts emphasize the importance of careful data management to avoid biases in AI development, while discussions about AI's influence in various sectors continue to take center stage at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"The US investment announcement will trigger additional investments in AI in other parts of the world," Harrick Vin, chief technology officer at Tata Consultancy Services, told DW.
"Everyone will have to be careful about what you let the machine do, what data is used for what and by whom," Vin said. "Otherwise, it creates the danger of biases and unethical practices."
