The modern battlefield is saturated with sensors and networked weapons producing far more data than soldiers can manually process. The Army is shifting from simply fielding more sensors to addressing information overload and data management. During a US Army and NATO exercise in Europe, troops employed a homegrown AI system to consume, sort, and retain contextual patterns across incoming data. The AI's value included remembering context and connections that humans might forget or miss. The software remains in beta testing. Army leaders plan a larger-scale test in the next Dynamic Front iteration, which will merge with Arcane Front to pair technology experimentation with theater-level rehearsals.
