The new Labour government has decided to shelve 1.3bn of funding promised by the Conservatives for technology and AI projects, including an exascale supercomputer and the AI Research Resource.
About 300m of the AI Research Resource funding has already been distributed, but the future of the projects remains uncertain, with concerns about potential cuts impacting university research.
