Saudi Arabia's ambition in artificial intelligence is receiving a significant boost following a visit by former US President Donald Trump. The country's datacentre operator, DataVolt, has signed a deal with Supermicro for a $20bn investment in AI datacentre technologies, notably utilizing advanced GPU systems. This partnership aims to enhance DataVolt's ability to deliver efficient AI solutions through ultra-dense hardware and innovative cooling technology. In addition, a consortium of companies, including Oracle and Google, is set to invest $80bn in transformative technologies in both the US and Saudi Arabia, demonstrating a strong commitment to AI advancements in the region.
