SAS thinks quantum AI has huge enterprise potential - here's why
Briefly

SAS highlighted its commitment to advancing quantum AI during the SAS Innovate 2025 conference, emphasizing its practicality for enterprises. CTO Bryan Harris showcased how P&G benefited from this technology, significantly reducing computation time for optimization problems. Although SAS primarily associates quantum AI with quantum annealing for efficient solutions, executives asserted its real-world applicability. They illustrated this with a complex manufacturing optimization scenario, revealing a hybrid solution as traditional methods struggled under scalable conditions.
Using traditional solver algorithms in SAS Viya, P&G was able to solve the problem in six hours, compared to just two minutes with quantum.
Bryan Harris emphasized that quantum AI is a practical, not theoretical, technology capable of addressing real-world challenges faced by companies.
